Volume 11, No. 01
January 8, 2007
We come to you, O God,
in the stillness, the quiet winter beauty
of snow falling on pine trees,
gently covering stubbly harvested fields,
softly, slowly transforming grey city streets.
Help us to live fully in these cold days and nights,
brilliant and subdued by turn.
As the earth pre pares for summer’s growth,
help us also to receive you,
the fount of creativity and hope.
Prepare our hearts and minds
for surprising grace.
Grant us, O God,
the gifts of silence and reflection,
sacrament in the space of secularity,
holiness at the hearth of home.
In the name of Jesus, Amen.
